The tour was great! It was a super long day, but worth it! The only drawback was that the lunch buffet and the cenote experience were at the same stop. We were allowed to choose individually whether we wanted to go to lunch or the cenote first. There was not enough time allowed to successfully do both activities. After lunch, there was barely enough time to change clothes, get a life vest, shower off, and climb the steps down to the cenote. After dipping into the water for about five minutes, we had to climb back up the steps and change clothes to reboard the bus.
Kudos to our guide, Norma who was super knowledgeable and entertaining at Chichen Itza

The trip was good but the first stop was shopping which is I don’t like. It’s better if just for tour.
Not so good
Xiaozhou_H, Jan 2025
Distance too far from Cancun, 5 hours on the road.
Only place worth seeing is Chichen Itza temple. Cenote swimming not so fun, buffet is not good. Last stop minimal worth seeing just tasting tequilla.
Guide is good though, fluent English and knowledgable.

Jenna_P, Jan 2025
The bus ride is of course 3ish hours each way but there are enough breaks and Rey gave interesting history during the ride so it did not feel bad at all. The day was overall very educational and enjoyable. It was nice to see a beautiful side of this country/ the Yucaton and also sites I would probably never venture to on my own (the native village, the cenote). Lunch was great, I’d recommend eating breakfast or bringing some breakfast on the bus because lunch isn’t until about 2 pm. The whole process was run smoothly and it was a great learning experience with beautiful places to see!
Incredible, must-see!

Incredible tour! The guide was amazing, the ruins breathtaking, and the cenote was very fun! Be aware that they bring you to a tourist trap for souvenirs, but you are not required to buy anything.
It may be cheaper to buy souvenirs on-site at chichen itza. Bring pesos!
Stunning

Made both the journey and visit great fun.

ANUSHKA_S, Jan 2025
Driver left without picking us at Hilton Riviera resort. We were waiting at reception for pick-up. Bus driver told us to come to hotel gate instead of driving to reception.
I would rate this as my worst tour experience where family is waiting and bus ignored and left. Bus could have drove in to reception and picked us up. Terrible experience.
Really bad experience
Jonathan_C, Jan 2025
Unfortunately, the experience did not meet the advertised expectations. I wrote 3 times to Viator and also to the tour company and nobody replied. Bad service.
Overbooking: The advertisement stated a maximum of 40 participants, but there were 52 people on board, which significantly reduced comfort (insufficient space in the bus, worse than an airplane) and caused multiple delays.
Poor Organization and Delays: The pickup time was 40 minutes later than scheduled, and the participant collection process took 1.5 hours after our arrival, including detours to various resorts.
Program Not Respected: The first stop was not listed in the announced itinerary. It was clearly a tourist trap aimed at encouraging us to spend money, with contradictory explanations about the stop duration (originally announced as 30 minutes but lasted over an hour). We also lost time on the bus without valid reasons.
Meals and Organization: The lunch timing was not respected. Lunch was served at 3 PM despite no breakfast being provided. This was very inconsiderate, especially as my children were very hungry, and we had to pay $30 USD for two hot dogs and chips at the Maya site. Additionally, pieces of aluminum foil were found in the pulled pork. We were aware that drinks were not included, but the prices were excessive ($5 USD for a Coca-Cola).
Limited Access: There was no internet access on the bus, while other buses around us had it. The seats were extremely cramped, worse than an airplane, lacking the comfort expected for an excursion involving over 7 hours of transport.
Missed Dinner Reservation: Due to the late return, we missed our 8 PM dinner reservation and had to pay a considerate penalty fee.
Amazing tour

Norma is an excellent tour guide who gives us an amazing and colourful description of the Mayan culture and their ways of life! Even my teenagers were surprisingly interested in what she explained.
Th little extra $ can get annoying even if it’s nothing major.
Efficient and Informative Tour
JOHN_W, Jan 2025
I had a wonderful experience on the tour, which perfectly balanced visiting multiple locations in a single day with gaining insightful historical knowledge. Our guides, Paul and Victor, were both highly knowledgeable and exceptionally courteous, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable journey. Their expertise and professionalism enhanced the experience, making it both informative and memorable. This excursion is ideal for those looking to explore various sites efficiently without compromising on the depth of information provided.
Great family trip!
Rayhan_M, Jan 2025
I had 11 family members of all ages. The operator was punctual and accommodating. Our guide was very informative. The information was quite thorough. The experience at the Cenote was unique and the kids just did not want to leave!
Awesome

Moto and ulysis were the best. Very knowledgeable about the temple and the culture. Highly recommended this trip.
Great tour, great guide

This was a great tour, which was well organised and Hugo was a great guide who provided lots of information about the logistics of the day and the sites. Very glad I did it and would recommend to anyone interested.

A great excursion! We enjoyed learning about the history and we had just enough free time! We recommend!
Worth the investment to see one of the Wonders of the World!
Dr_B, Jan 2025
Our experience was great, and the tour guide Victor Mendoza (Moto) was absolutely amazing at sharing about the Mayan culture and the history with everything. The kids thoroughly enjoyed swimming in the Conote and jumping off the deck into the water. The additional fees added throughout, were frustrating, including the Charges for water at lunch and multiple lockers, etc. Overall, it was a great experience.

Jan_L, Jan 2025
Our tour guide Hugo is great. The problem of the tour is the pick up and drop off time was too long as people staying at different hotels at different areas. Even we were divided into two groups to be dropped off, but there were many tourists on the bus which took very long time to drop everyone off. Also be aware of the scams as the message site may not be secure. I received a message the night before to confirm the pick up time and location with the name of our tour guide. Our bus came late for pick from the hotel in the morning. When I replied to that confirmation message to check on when the bus will be coming, I immediately received a message telling me the bus encountered a mechanical issue and I would need to go to a different location to be picked up. They will reimburse my transportation fee from my hotel to that pick up site. Immediately after this message, a phone call came. I was not sure about the “pick up location” and gave the phone to the hotel doorman to better communicate. Then our bus reached the front gate of the resort which is about 8 minutes drive to our hotel lobby. Our doorman was informed about our bus coming and told the person on the phone. The person on the phone still kept on saying that was not our bus etc. Our tour guide Hugo got off the bus and introduced himself-he and driver both wore uniforms and tour guide has name on the uniform. Our doorman helped to confirm the tour company also. I appreciate the name of the tour guide was provided to us for identification which helped us avoiding being scammed.
Great experience!

Great tour, Rafael made an amazing job sharing Maya’s culture and traditions.
Also he was able to resolve quickly the challenges that we faced, you rocks!
Thanks!
Great way to hit many inland activities!
Zach_C, Jan 2025
What a great trip! I was looking for something that filled up an entire day with the "big" activities off the beach. The full time for us was about 12 hours door-to-door. The tour had about 30 people on it including families, seniors, solo travelers, and couples. Our guide Alfredo was both very knowledgeable and funny. He kept us engaged and was a wealth of information. The traditional lunch was very good with many options, swimming in the cenote was magical, and the historical stops were excellent. My one negative is that the stop at the Mayan shops felt a bit odd; the prices were higher than what I expected and we were sort of shepherded into the store there where there was some pressure to buy (albeit for a good cause). Just beware as I spent more than I expected in there.
Good overview of Chichen Itza and the Yucatan area
Gregory_S, Jan 2025
Overall a very enjoyable experience from Chichen Itza to the Cenote to Valladolid. Our tour guide was very informative about the area so we learnt a lot so was a very enjoyable day overall.
Immerse yourself into the Mayan world!
joe_a, Jan 2025
Amazing a must do when visiting the Riviera Maya or Yucatán Peninsula. Chichén Itzá is truly a wonderful modern marvel. Our tour guide Samy was great, funny and informative. Only complain, I would like more time in Chichén Itzá and more time at the cenote and Valladolid town. Tour is worth another 4 hours, I wouldn’t mind showing up to my hotel at midnight. That’s how good it is!
