Wonderful Private Tour of Chichen Itza
Our family of 11 thoroughly enjoyed the private tour of Chichen Itza. Our driver/guide Arnie was fantastic. He is very knowledgeable regarding this site, and kept us all fascinated with the history of Chichen Itza. The Cenote was a fun stop for the whole family. The lunch in Valladolid was delicious, authentic Mexican/Mayan food. Our van was clean and comfortable, and Arnie safely drove us throughout the area.

Great Tour @ Chichen Itza / Cenote / Vallodolid!
Thank you to Hugo, Samuel & our steady driver Augustine for providing a wonderful experience. We were well taken care of and felt there was a good amount of time at Chichen Itza & the cenote. The journey was long but bus was comfortable. Facilities were clean & well maintained. Only wish we could have a bit more time at Valladolid (total 1h instead of 30min would be great!). Highly recommend this well run tour to others.

The visit to Chichen Itza...
The visit to Chichen Itza with its very early arrival time allowed us to truly enjoy a short wait to get in, pleasant temperatures while we were there and minimal crowds. The discussion of culture and archeology was less than expected based on our previous experiences with tours of this type. The visit to the home with the private cenote was exceptional and a true privilege. It was one of the highlights of our time in the Yucatan, affording a glimpse into local life and culture.

The tour guide provided...
The tour guide provided good introduction on the history and culture of Chichen Itza. This made the trip not only about seeing a world known monument, but also an understanding of Mexican people.
People Also Ask
Q:Do you need to book Chichen Itza in advance?
A:
No, but buying Chichen Itza tickets in advance can be a good idea to avoid disappointment and save time on the day. This is because tickets often sell out and there tend to be long lines at the ticket desk. Plus, you don't need to worry about bringing cash on the day to cover your admission fee.
Q:How long do I need at Chichen Itza?
A:
Plan to spend half a day at Chichen Itza, or up to four hours. This will give you enough time to explore the main sights, cenotes, and more without feeling rushed.
Q:What is the best day of the week to visit Chichen Itza?
A:
Early morning on a weekday is the best time to visit Chichen Itza because you can avoid the tour bus crowds which tend to arrive mid-morning. Sunday is perhaps the worst day for a non-Mexican resident to visit Chichen Itza, as Mexican residents enjoy free entry on Sundays and the ruins fill up fast.
Q:Can you swim in the cenotes at Chichen Itza?
A:
No. The only cenote which forms part of the Chichen Itza site is known as the Cenote Sagrado and while you can observe it from above, you can't swim in it. There are, however, dozens of nearby cenotes where swimming is permitted.
Q:Can you still climb the pyramid at Chichen Itza?
A:
No, you cannot climb the pyramid at Chichen Itza. Climbing any structures at Chichen Itza is prohibited, including that of the main pyramid which has been off-limits to visitors since 2008.
Q:What do you wear to Chichen Itza?
A:
As Chichen Itza is located in the Yucatán Peninsula, the weather tends to be hot and humid year-round. Wear light layers and shoes that are comfortable for walking, as the site is huge and well worth exploring in its entirety. You may also want to pack sunscreen and plenty of water.
